AI Tools Edition 03: A Repo With 98,000 Stars This Tracker Had Never Heard Of

July 31, 2026

This refresh widens the tracker's lens. Edition 03's original discovery method — GitHub-API-only, no roundups or aggregators — still works for measuring open-source star velocity, but it structurally cannot see funding rounds, foundation-model drops, or product launches from companies that don't live on GitHub. Covering those means drawing on secondary sources, so this refresh does that openly: every item below is tagged Verified (confirmed via GitHub, a company's own press/changelog, or comparable first-party record) or reported (resting on a single aggregator or secondary source no lab or company has directly confirmed) rather than presented as uniformly solid.

Three funding rounds announced in the same window (5 Aug 2026 TechStartups roundup) accounted for $242M of fresh capital into AI-agent infrastructure — logistics automation (HappyRobot), an AI-native backend (Convex), and agent-compute routing (Sapiom). Figures are reported, not yet confirmed first-party.

Consistency & methodology notes

A small verified sample was checked first (Ruflo, Graphify, Kolibri, HappyRobot), each fact checked against its primary source, then scaled to the full board across all five categories. Items are labelled Verified where a figure came from GitHub itself or reputable first-party press, and reported where it rests on a single aggregator or secondary source a lab or company has not directly confirmed.

What changed this refresh (as of 11 August): six new movers added, headlined by Cloudflare's “Agents Week” — Kitesurf (agent-first browser) and Cloudflare Wallets / cloudflare.pay (agent identity + stablecoin payments), both confirmed via TechCrunch and Cloudflare's own press/changelog. Also new: Meta's Muse Code (repo-scale terminal agent) and Muse Glimmer model, OpenAI Agent Plugins (interop standard), and Drata AI Agent Governance. No new funding rounds surfaced this window; Ruflo's star count and prior funding figures are unchanged (flat).

  • GitHub star counts are point-in-time snapshots captured 11 August 2026, and move continuously. Ruflo (ruvnet/ruflo) read 67.6k stars / 8.1k forks; Graphify (rhanka/graphify) read 16 stars / 4 forks.
  • Name-collision watch — “Graphify”: the reference example is a small, fast-nascent skill repo (rhanka/graphify, 16 stars). A separate fork chain exists (safishamsi/graphify → collabsoft/ai_graphify, 0 stars), and several SEO blogs claim “85,000+ stars” for “Graphify” — that figure is unverified and does not match any live repo; treat it as fabricated content-farm inflation, not a real number.
  • Name-collision watch — “Kolibri”: Konecta's enterprise agentic platform “Kolibri” is distinct from unrelated GitHub repos spelled “colibri”. Konecta's launch is confirmed via CMSWire and AIThority (16 June 2026).
  • Foundation-model dates carry caveats. Most August-2026 model details come from release-tracker aggregators, not lab pages, so specs and parameters are marked “reported.” Example discrepancy: Claude Opus 5 is dated 24 July 2026 by one tracker but “August 2026” by another — carried here as late July, flagged.
  • Pricing and single-source claims (the Codex price cut, Gemini Spark's $99.99/mo, per-token model pricing) are marked “reported” pending first-party confirmation.
  • Funding figures (HappyRobot, Convex, Sapiom) are from a 5 August 2026 TechStartups VC roundup — a secondary but editorial source; round sizes and valuations should be treated as reported until an official announcement is located.
  • Freshness bias: the board prioritises items from roughly the last 2–4 weeks. Where an item is a still-dominant carryover, the “why it matters” note says what changed this week.

How this refresh relates to Edition 03's own rule. Edition 03 was built specifically to prove a GitHub-API-only, no-roundup discovery method for star velocity — and that method, and its data, are unchanged here. This refresh adds a second, separate board for launches, funding and model releases that GitHub's API cannot see at all, sourced more broadly but labelled honestly per item. The two aren't merged into one number; treat the star-velocity table from the original edition and this launch board as two different instruments measuring two different things.

Sources. Star/fork counts are read directly from the GitHub API. Launch, funding and model-release items are sourced per-item as linked in each card above and in the notes; see each card's “Source” link for the specific citation. Prior editions are linked from the AI Tracker hub.

How this site works

Data-led analysis of India's trade, currency and industrial policy. Every article is built from primary official sources, and every figure links back to the release, table or filing it came from.

Sources. DGCI&S TradeStat (imports/exports, HSN-wise) · PIB (government press releases, January 2017 to today, refreshed daily) · RBI (circulars, balance of payments) · MoSPI (CPI/WPI, IIP) · PARIVESH (environmental clearances) · CCIL (bond yields) · BIS (policy rates) · SEBI, NSE/BSE and SEC filings for company data.

Interpretation. Figures carry their vintage and retrieval date; estimates and press-reported numbers are labelled as such; where sources disagree, both are shown. Corrections are made visibly, never silently. Articles are written with AI assistance from the cited sources — AI-generated text can misstate figures even when working from real material, so verify any number that matters to a decision against the linked primary source.
